Pendant Porcelain ‘Discus’

Pendant Porcelain ‘Discus’

The clear forms of the lamp have been modeled in clay by hand, thus receiving its characteristic somewhat irregular surface and form.

The mostly closed form initially seems solid, monumental. Then follows the unexpected transparency, where the material comes to life by the light. This underside contains a recessed hole that provides direct downward light.

The lamps are manually produced in the studio. Each casting gets its own ‘drawing’ in the process, which is only revealed by light. In addition the finishing and the firing process affect the final form. Each lamp is therefore unique.
